Clermont

Clermont is the largest city in Lake County and the center of gravity for this weekly. People live on the ridges above the Clermont chain of lakes, shop Highway 50 and 27, and still treat downtown Montrose as the place you run into someone from school pickup.

We write for residents first: trash days, library hours, first-Saturday downtown, parkrun, and the Publix ad — not a weekend itinerary for people staying near the parks. West of Orlando is a location, not a brand.

City Hall sits at 685 W. Montrose Street. Regular counter hours are Monday–Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., except listed holidays. Parks, special events, and sanitation schedules are on clermontfl.gov. Downtown programming (markets, Food Fest, Harvest Festival) is run by Clermont Main Street.

South Lake Hospital, Cooper Memorial Library, and the waterfront are the weekday anchors. The South Lake Trail ties the beach to Minneola. Lake Louisa State Park is the south gate on U.S. 27 when you need woods instead of errands.

This is the fullest town page on purpose. Neighbor cities get short stubs until we have resident-verified listings of our own.
